How to correctly add
DNS ONLY Sub-domain Records
DNS ONLY subdomains are subdomains that point to another service and are not fully hosted with dreamhost.
Start by going to your Manage Domains Page :
Find your domain (the main domain not the subdomain), if the subdomain is fully hosted, you will need to remove it from hosting be using delete action :
Find the main domain and click the dns link under it:
Now you can add the DNS ONLY subdomain:
Example:
Name: Your Subdomain
Type: A or Cname
Value: the target for that subdomain
(A record uses IP, Cname uses another subdomain)
